I have a page on my site with some of my favorite new sites that are showing up on the web. These are not my sites, but they are the kinds of things that I like in a website. There are different reasons that I picked these sites, they all look good, and are clear and easy to use. They don’t use Flash at all or use it only when necessary and never for navigation. The graphics are good, but not overpowering. Sometimes I just like a picture or the name. Some of them are not in English and I still know what they are about.

The newest one is called Tobiwabohu. It’s not in English so I can’t read the words, but I have a very good idea what the site is about. I really like the look of this site and how it changes from page to page, but the general “theme” keeps the same so you know that you are still on the same site. I like the reflective text in the header and the shadows are well done. There is plenty of whitespace for ease of reading (if I understood German).

I love the hover effect on the navigation and it’s done in plain text so you still get the SEO benefits, but looks really cool as well.
