I have a category with some of my favorite site designs on the web. These are not my sites, but they are the kinds of designs that I like in a website. There are different reasons that I picked these site designs, they all look good and are clear and easy to use. Sometimes I just like a picture or the name. Some of the sites are not in English and I still know what they are about.

The newest one is called Paul’s Market. I just surfed into this site and love the look of the main page. Their great pictures stopped me and made me take notice. It was a simple, but elegant way to display them as a menu. Something that looked new and different.
The rest of the pages are nice and carry on the theme very well.
My main complaint is that I don’t like light text on a dark background and I really don’t like darker text on a dark background. Avoid things that makes it harder for human visitors.
Just back from the beach and I feel great! It was a wonderful week, it only rained Wednesday (late at night). That’s perfect weather two years in a row. We stayed in the same house as last year, maybe that’s it. First time to stay in the same house twice since the mid 90′s.
I never usually post things while I’m gone, but before I left I asked several people what they thought about posting pictures on facebook, Twitter, etc. As you might expect everyone said that it was not a good idea. Some were more vigorous than others.
The people that did post their memories live as they happened seemed to also feel that it probably wasn’t safe, but the benefits outweighed the risks.
I’m not sure. Do you have any thoughts on that?
Enjoy the photos

Friday Just For Fun Site -
Here’s something just for some fun on a Friday. (Not responsible if you get caught playing at work)
This is very cool. YouTube has added a free video editing tool for anyone to use.
It looks like it may be a bit clunky at first, but still pretty easy to use, it’s free and you don’t have to install anything on your computer. You do need to have a free YouTube account to use the editor.
If you just want to chop something from the beginning or end (or both), you just do it. If you want more than that you have to load the same clip more than once and edit each section separately, not that bad.
I’m also sure software will continue to get better. Google likes to throw things out for people to play with and then improve the product based on their users comments.
Imagine that, a company actually listening to users, much too uncommon these days.
First off, it’s not the same thing as ACTUAL stealing or robbery.
My advice, forget about it and concentrate on NOT banging your head against the wall!
I saw on cnet that AT&T is unveiling a bunch of new data plans for their smart phones. While they are playing this up as a drop in price what they are really doing is dropping their unlimited Internet access plans. I’ve never used them so I’m not sure that their unlimited plans were really unlimited, but it looks like “unlimited” is going away.
Cnet thinks this is a good thing and will lower bills, I don’t.
They may get lower bills at first, but with more and more video on the web these days and more and more phones that will be able to play it, usage will grow rapidly.
Maybe they can’t handle the traffic, but I believe this is a move that’s really gong to annoy their customers and backfire. Looks like AT&T has seen what their customers want and are going to gouge them for it.
