{"id":421,"date":"2007-08-27T07:25:56","date_gmt":"2007-08-27T12:25:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lillicotch.com\/Blog\/2007\/08\/27\/a-new-page-who-do-you-design-for\/"},"modified":"2008-04-28T11:23:14","modified_gmt":"2008-04-28T16:23:14","slug":"a-new-page-who-do-you-design-for","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lillicotch.com\/Blog\/a-new-page-who-do-you-design-for\/","title":{"rendered":"A New Page &#8211; Who Do You Design For?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I have a section of my site where I have a tutorial about <a href=\"https:\/\/lillicotch.com\/SAS\/index.html\">starting a web site<\/a>.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s a do-it-yourself kind of thing.<\/p>\n<p>I am adding a new page called  <a href=\"https:\/\/lillicotch.com\/SAS\/DesignWho.html\">Who Are You Designing For?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I really like websites that use shadows well.<br \/>\nSee <a href=\"https:\/\/lillicotch.com\/Design\/favs.html\">my favorite sites<\/a>.<br \/>\npng images make the best shadows because you can set the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Opacity_%28optics%29\" target=\"_blank\">opacity<\/a>.<br \/>\nIE6 doesn&#8217;t read this and shows your clear backgrounds as solid.<br \/>\nIE6 is currently used by about a third of visitors.<\/p>\n<p>So the question becomes at what point is it worth putting any cool looking     effect on a site if 50% of the visitors won&#8217;t see it or have it distorted.     How about 30%? 20%?<br \/>\nIn the end it&#8217;s the site&#8217;s owner that will decide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a section of my site where I have a tutorial about starting a web site.
