Tips For A Great Logo

June 8, 2009 - Filed under: Information,web design

I have been asked on more than one occasion about logo design. What I ‘ve found is that while I like to play with The GIMP and manipulate images in different ways (some twisted), I’m better at working with web pages than I am a graphic artist.

I do enjoy working on the art and I do it for most of my customers. I have also done a couple of logos, but I’m always looking for ways to improve. The other day I found this blog post on Logo Designer Blog with some great insider logo design tips by Mike Erickson. Mike is really good and like any classy professional he isn’t shy about sharing his expertise.

I have found this post to be a really good, informative read even if you don’t want to do it yourself.

  1. Its definitely worth researching logo design because your logo will be the first impression a person gets. Its also important to make it memorable, but going over the top can have reverse effects.

Quite true. Some web designers don’t make a good graphic artist. Web Design and Logo Design are different in some ways.
